It will be the first time that the approximately 13,000 eligible voters of the three islands will be allowed to vote for the Second Chamber. With a 100 per cent turnout these voters would be good for a quart seat in the new Chamber. Government Service Caribbean Netherlands RCN launched an information campaign for the election on Monday. Up until now it seems the CDA will be the only party to send a candidate to campaign on the islands. The CDA party will be actively campaigning on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba for the upcoming Second Chamber election of September 12. The party will be sending candidate number 23 Arjan Erkel to the Caribbean Netherlands to try to persuade voters to cast their vote for the CDA. The conservative VVD party stated it would be seeking the electorate’s favour through newspaper ads and radio commercials. Labour PvdA will be sending a load of campaign material such as stickers and balloons.
